This sounds a bit bizarre but the candles are not the same ones that you use for light ! Having said that, the Ancient Egyptians did use them to gain enlightenment because the head clearing was so effective ! The term Hopi, comes from the Hopi Indians, who like other ancient cultures found great benefits from this subtle form of healing.

Hopi Ear Candles To use its other name, auricular therapy allows a gentle heat within the ear to soothe and draw out – a bit like a chimney. The candles are usually made from beeswax, sometimes impregnated with herbs and are hollow. They are often used as an alternative to syringing for ear wax, and can help other conditions like hay fever, swimmer’s ear, or pressure problems following flying. It may take 3 or 4 appointments before improvement is seen for long standing problems.

Headaches, sinus and sore throats can all be relieved with this very relaxing therapy and you can combine it with a back massage or Indian head massage.

Ear Candling takes about 40 minutes and costs £ 30. With an Indian Head massage the appointment is an hour and costs £ 35. If you combine ear candling with a back massage, please allow 1 ¼ hours and the cost is £ 45.
